CRCSD Names Condra Allred as New Principal of Grant Wood Elementary School

The Cedar Rapids Community School District is pleased to announce that Condra Allred has been selected as the new Principal of Grant Wood Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026. Allred will succeed current Principal Cindy Stock, who is retiring at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year following a remarkable career in education.

Allred is a familiar leadership figure within CRCSD, having served as the Principal of Cleveland Elementary School for the past seven years. Known across the district for her "energy and heart," Allred has built a strong reputation for fostering positive, inclusive environments that empower both students and staff to thrive.

A Proven Track Record in Regional Education

Allred brings nearly three decades of diverse educational and administrative experience to her new role at Grant Wood:

• Principal, Cleveland Elementary (CRCSD) – 7 years

• Assistant Principal, Council Bluffs School District – 3 years

• Behavior Focus Special Education Teacher, College Community School District – 17 years

Her deep commitment to the local educational landscape extends to extracurriculars, having coached volleyball, basketball, and softball at various area schools. Additionally, she comes from a multigenerational family of educators; her husband, Aaron, currently serves as a computer science teacher and activities coordinator at McKinley STEAM Academy.

"Condra leads with heart, integrity, and a deep-seated belief in the potential of every child," said Superintendent Dr. Tawana Lannin. "Her deep roots in our district and her passion for specialized instruction make her the perfect fit to lead Grant Wood into its next chapter. I am confident that under her guidance, Grant Wood will continue to be a place where both students and staff feel valued and empowered."

The district recognizes the strong foundation and culture of excellence built under Cindy Stock's leadership and is dedicated to supporting a seamless transition for the upcoming school year.
