August Rider of the Month: Elijah Burgen

The CRCSD Transportation Department believes every student's school day begins and ends with their commute, and that setting a positive tone on the bus helps prepare students for success in the classroom. To foster a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment on every route, our team launched the brand-new Student Rider of the Month program.

Bus drivers, van drivers, and attendants can nominate students who consistently model safe, respectful, and responsible behavior. Each month, one outstanding rider is chosen across the district to recognize their positive impact on wheels. Each month, we will choose one outstanding rider to be recognized for their positive impact on wheels. We are proud to announce that Elijah Burgen has been selected as our very first Rider of the Month for August!

Nominated by his bus driver, Christine "Ms. Dr. Pepper" Huston, Elijah demonstrates safe riding habits every day by staying properly seated, following bus rules, treating others with kindness, and listening carefully and following directions. Elijah is a great role model and looks out for others, including his little sister, whom he is helping learn how to ride the "big bus.” Congratulations to Elijah for being a great passenger and an outstanding leader on the bus! We look forward to sharing more of our excellent riders in the coming months.
