Nonpublic Transportation Reimbursment
Iowa Code Section 285.1 requires public school districts to provide transportation services to entitled resident nonpublic students in the form of bussing, reimbursement or a contractor. If you qualify for the reimbursement, it is your responsibility as the nonpublic parent or guardian to complete the forms necessary to file for reimbursement. Forms must be submitted no later than December 1 (for the first semester) and May 1 (for second semester reimbursement) each year. Failure to submit these forms by these deadlines each semester will result in the denial of the reimbursement request for the claim period.
Reimbursements will be made when funds are appropriated one time by the Iowa General Assembly after the end of the school year.
